This is interesting. From the dawn of a January that is thankfully already reaching the half way stage. Always pleased when I've got January behind me. This record might play some part in getting me there. .
Gumshoes is a singer songwriter of the old school. An eclectic one too. This record Dreadnought, Dreadnought doesn't sit still or let up for a moment which in itself keeps it interesting.
He has an interesting narrative voice which oddly seems to combine aspects of Andy Partridge, Jazz Butcher, classic Stiff Records and Dean Friedman believe it or not.
So on it goes, each song coming as something of a surprise. There's little more you can ask of a new record except that it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Good work by Gumshoes.
