Seabear the Icelandic collective return after a 12 year hiatus with new album In Another Life. It's altogether lovely, lilting comforting stuff from the off. Floating, melodic folk indie with male and female vocals weaving together across bobbing waves of positivity.
The whole record is deeply nautical, befitting a band from this place with this name. But the skies are fair, the sea is calm, the crew all know exactly what they're doing and the compass is aligned for shore, even if land is not yet on the horizon. A wonderful record that reminded me of the feeling I got from Split Enz Time & Tide andThe Chills Submarine Bells while all the time remaining its own thing.
