Song of the Day # 60 Television

A song about James Jewel Osterberg Jr. A day or two after his drummer and 'brother' died. This is primitive and basic expression of jazz. And Rock and Roll though not quite as it had been heard before. Or since really. I'll write more about this over the coming days though the sound of it for now should be more than enough.

  1. Great song. And so weird. It's easy to forget how weird Television were.

  2. Very weird! I think that's what I liked about all of the CBGBs bands. They were all weird in different ways. They said you didn't have to live your life out on the dull conformist tracks laid out to you. I have a lot to thank Patti Smith, Tom Verlaine and Alan Vega for.
